I just booked our airfaire for Nov 3- 10th in Maui. My husband, son and I - (oh yeah, and my inl-aws) are going. I have been to Honolulu several times but this is my first trip to Maui. I want to stay somewhere that is a condo style resort. Need a 1 bedroom for us and the same or studio for the in-laws (yes, I must have seperate units). I would like a somewhat bigger place so there will be kids for my 12 year old son to play with. I would prefer to be on the beach and a nice beach that we could hang out all day and my son can jump waves. It would be great if there were lots around the resort restaurants/stores (or at least walking distance). And of course I don%26#39;t want to spend much. It%26#39;s november so the rates are lower. I was looking at Kaanapali shores as they had units around $150 a night. Just not sure if that%26#39;s the best option, or someone could suggest better. Any help is much appreciated.

IMO West Maui would be what you are looking for. Check the Honokowai, Kahana, Napili areas. There are many condos there that have both studio and 1%26amp;2 bedroom units. And if you don%26#39;t have the ';best'; beach right in front of your condo there are many great beaches in the area within a 10 -15 minute drive. Have fun!

Great advise from my namesake pahtnah, NoKaOi712!
Check listings on VRBO, and then look up the reviews here on TA...
When you narrow things down, post again asking for feedback on specific properties... you%26#39;re sure to get some great responses!
Aloha!

Love the Napili area but if you are looking for a resort with lots of restaurants and stores nearby, you%26#39;d be better off in Kaanapali, I think...but your price range is pretty low for that area. I haven%26#39;t stayed at Kaanapali Shores so can%26#39;t comment on that ... The Napili and Kapalua beaches are great (although there%26#39;s a lot of construction around Kapalua at the moment ...) There will be lots of people there, although not so many at the first of Nov as later in the month.
Unless you%26#39;re staying at the Kapalua Bay Villa%26#39;s, construction isn%26#39;t likely to affect your vacation at all. I just returned from 10 nights at the Ridge Villa%26#39;s - hung out at Kapalua %26amp; Napili beaches almost everyday - and we were not bothered in any fashion except for the several times we got behind one of the large gravel trucks on the 30, which can happen at anytime.
$150/n is difficult for Kaanapali, but not undoable! Again, scour the listings on VRBO %26amp; see what you can come up with!
Hey konagirl, let me know if your ';early fall'; plans change %26amp; you%26#39;re unable to make it to the GW with your friend.. If this is the case, perhaps she%26#39;d substiture in a ';cabana boy?!?!';
