Any words of wisdom from others who have stayed at the Napili Kai with kids? We are planning a trip to attend a friends wedding at the property in June. We have two kids, boy 9 and girl 12, so we%26#39;ll need enough beds to accomodate my husband, myself and the kids. Suggestions on the property and/or what types of rooms to request?
Napili Kai
aloha Mjdunlap,
You are in Carson city, I%26#39;m up here off the MT. Rose Hwy! I know the Napili Bay area real well and it is the nicest area in West Maui. However I personally wouldn%26#39;t stay at the Napili Kai with 2 kids. To get any thing spacious enough it will cost you an arm and a leg. I would rent a one bedroom at the Napili sunset www.napilisunset.com or if you don%26#39;t mind being back aways you could get a two bedroom condo at the Napili Gardens. I would even rather have stay in a studio with a kitchen like they have at the Napili Bay
(www.napilibeach.com) then the Napili Kai.
This is just my opinion your milage may vary!

The posts are old so I am just writing to provide my opinion on Napili Kai. I am biased as we are shareholders in the resort and have been going there for over 20 years. The place has changed a bit since the first time we stayed in 1974, but it is just as beautiful now as then. All shareholders love the place and none of us get any dividends, all are plowed back into maintaining the resort and keeping superb staff. The units have kitchens with full size refrigerators and all have ocean views. The Sea House restaurant is great at any time of day and great food. It is good for families and we go in September when the summer rush is over and young families with young kids are in abundance as are those who are a little bit older like us. The management and shareholders are sensitive to any complaints and will address them in order to keep the return guests we have as well as those who are first time visitors. Sounds like a commercial but we have stayed on all the islands except Lanai, which we have visited, and all the islands have good places to stay and eat and enjoy. It is true that all Hawaii is expensive. With a kitchen and convenient shopping, Napili Kai can be reasonable compared with a high rise monster like some others. Napili Bay is exceptional for its beauty.
CBS
CBS, just curious why you didn%26#39;t post your opinion in the TA reviews section?
I loved Napili Kai. It had a close knit feel. Met lots of friendly people. Doesn%26#39;t have fancy pools but feels like old style Hawaii.
I know this is an old post but felt like saying that. I miss Maui.
