We are trying to decide between a renovated unit at Elua, and a very promotionaly priced unit at Wailea Beach Villas. Because of the special promotion, the WBV price is not in the stratosphere for us, and we hesitate to pass up on this opportunity after all the reviews we have read. On the other hand, it is still more money than Elua, which looks like a very nice unit, and the owners have a son the same age as ours, and told us it is stocked with beach toys and games for his age. This is a big trip for us, and a long flight from the East Coast, so we don%26#39;t expect to visit Hawaii again for quite some time.
Any feedback from those of you who have visited both places?
Elua or Wailea Beach Villa w/young family
If it is a really good price, there%26#39;s no question; I%26#39;d pick WBV. (Most condos have lots of beach stuff, and kiddie toys are very inexpensive at KMart or WalMart if you want more of them.)
Elua or Wailea Beach Villa w/young family
We have never stayed at Elua but we have stayed at the WBV with our kids. The condo we stayed in had lots and lots of board games, DVDs, etc. for kids. Also, the Villas front desk has anything you could possible want for the kids to enjoy the outdoors like pool toys, beach toys, boogie boards, etc. Staying at WBV was a great experience for our kids and for ourselves. Enjoy!
I agree with ChiSue. If you are getting a special promotional price, definitely choose the Beach Villas. WBV is a great place to stay with your family. We have stayed there and loved it.
I haven%26#39;t seen Elua, but we just spend 5 nights at WBV, and I%26#39;m spoiled for life! It%26#39;s a great place, especially with kids. Ours are 5, 7 and 9, and it worked out really well. Most owners do have beach toys in the units. If you have the opportunity, take it!
The pools at Elua are not kid friendly. The older residents and the security guards have been very rude to children having ';too much'; fun. The upper pool at the Villas is the kids pool and they can be as goofy as they want there.
I%26#39;ll second the ';Don%26#39;t have too much fun in the pool, or playing on the grass at Elua. My brother in-law%26#39;s kids got that one when they stayed there 2 years ago.
When you see what you get at WBV, you will think its worth the extra. Once you have been to Maui once, you will probably want to come again, as will your son. Water is definitely warmer than the North East Coast beaches.
We stayed at Elua Village one year with our son. There were quite a few kids there and we actually didn%26#39;t have any problems at the pool at all. WE loved the location, the beach fronting the complex (Ulua Beach) is still one of our favorites and wonderful for famlies with young children.
We found Ekahi Village%26#39;s pool to have grouchier residents and not as family friendly.
