I joined the Avis pefered program -used my card and saved 20% and i get to go straight to my car -no counter-no goon guy in his 50%26#39;s at the alamo counter-no hassles and i got a full size suv for $50.00 a day for 8 days.As us mainlanders say -you get what you pay for

REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!!!!!

addicted, the quicksilver program is Alamo%26#39;s frequent renter schpiel.... mex joined an Avis program - Wizard, Avis 1st...Avis preferred...etc

Much as I bi+ched about Alamo, 50 bucks a day is waaay too steep for my squeaky wallet!!!

I joined a couple months ago. Been watchin them and Hertz (been a member there for years) for a couple months. I finally booked w/ Avis. A Pontiac G6 for $153. Am using AMEX points, so It%26#39;ll actually cost me $0, but no sense in wasting points.

I%26#39;d just like to chime in here with the price I got for 10 or 11 days, depending on how you look at it, compact car rental with Alamo and Costco. Ready? $180. That%26#39;s all. I arrive and pick up the car in 14 days (!!!!!) on the 21st at around noon and I%26#39;m leaving to come back on July 1st - returning the car at around 6:30 p.m.

I%26#39;ll stand in line for that price.

I can%26#39;t wait.

Avis $crewed me when I needed to be at my dad%26#39;s memorial service 5-1/2 years ago. Never Avis, never again.
