What would be the best place to buy a pair of beach chairs and umbrella near the airport? I see there is a Costco (have membership), Wal-Mart and Kmart all nearby...but unsure which one has the best selection.
Thanks,
m
Best place to buy beach chairs?
Walmart or Kmart would be equally as good near the airport, but you may find good deals also at any of the local ABC stores.
Best place to buy beach chairs?
I got an umrella for around $8.00 and also got a fold up chair, with drink holder for about $10.00 at Walmart near the airport. Great prices. It%26#39;s located in the back (inside the store), near the barbeques and garden stuff.
If you are staying in a condo you might want to check to see if there are chairs at the condo. And if you do buy them, please do not dump them in the trash at the end of your visit! We have limited land fill space that is being pushed to its limits now.
Thanks for the replies. I would never even think about tossing something like that, even in my own home state. Planning to leave it at the B%26amp;B for others to use.

Hi all ~ 5 days and counting!!! Is this something we need to think about ~ chairs and umbrellas?? I guess I never thought about it. I was thinking that the hotels would have chairs. But now that I think about other ';beaches'; I%26#39;ve been to ~ there is always someone trying to make a buck to ';rent'; you a chair for the day. We%26#39;ll be at the renaissance wailea for 4 nights and westin for 3 ~ is this something we should invest in and what are the pros and cons of having them??
We are on Oahu for 7 nights then on to Maui for 4 nights. If I buy a beach umbrella on Oahu, can I take it on the interisland flight over to Maui? Are they small enough to pack in a large suitcase? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated!
Instead of buying chairs, why not rent them from one of the activites/snorkle rental places. Boss Frogs on Lahainaluna in Lahaina rents chairs, umbrellas and even coolers. That way you don%26#39;t have to worry about what to do with the chairs after your trip.
We always buy grass mats at Longs or ABC and pass them on the the next guest - chairs are nice but they are just one more thing to lug to the beach! Park near a tree and you don%26#39;t need an umbrella!
There%26#39;s some great lightweight backpack-style beach chairs available for purchase from various online vendors - has anyone ever tried bringing a set of these with them from the mainland? Wondering if it%26#39;s worth the extra 7-8 pounds in luggage...
Yes, you can check an umbrella as a piece of your luggage. Slap a luggage tag on it and you%26#39;re good to go!
