Hi all,
I%26#39;ll be flying in to Honolulu later this month and staying for two nights. We%26#39;ll be leaving Honolulu (to Seattle) with Northwest is at 9:00pm on the third day.
The hotel I%26#39;m staying at is the Waikiki Resort Hotel (with checkout at 12pm) , and from what I%26#39;ve heard it may not be the safest or most secure to leave luggage with the front desk.
Does anyone have any reccomendations and possible costs on where luggage can be left securely for a couple of hours to a day, so that we can enjoy the last couple of hours without having to carry around our luggage?
Baggage Storage for late flight departure
I%26#39;m giving you a bump so that someone else can offer better info. That was going to be my suggestion, to leave luggage at bell services. Not sure about security and safety at your hotel. You could maybe check luggage in early with airlines, but that would require and extra trip to the airport.

Almost all hotels allow you to leave your luggage at the hotel. I have not heard of any problem with this not being safe.
We had a late flight out and I rented an SUV to store our stuff for the day. Bad mistake. Everything was stolen. In hindsght I definately knew better however I justed wanted one more day on the beach.
In Hawaii, storing valuables in a car is never an option. The theft rate is very high.
Like the other poster said, all hotels should offer baggage storage for you, for a small fee or free of charge. I%26#39;ve done this many times with no problem at all.
I would e mail the hotel and ask what arrangements they have for storing luggage. I have noticed that some of the hotels on Kuhio leave guests luggage on the hotel forecourts under the watchful eye of the bell stafff with all of one family%26#39;s luggage tagged together, so I guess it would be pretty difficult to steal. We didn%26#39;t need the facility where we stayed at the Holiday Inn but I know that they did have secure facilities.
Thanks for the info everyone,
I%26#39;m just waiting on a reply from the Waikiki Resort Hotel to check if they can arrange this. I can see from the general perspective is that it should be quite safe to store all luggage at the front desk or the forecourts. I don%26#39;t mind paying a fee, i just need to ensure that I can enjoy my last day without worrying about everything being stolen.
Cheers.
The Hilton Hawaiian Village not only held our luggage for the day in a secure room, but gave us an unsued and fully stocked room at NO cost to clean up after our last day on the beach. It allowed my family to enjoy a full day of fun and 90 minutes to shower and change into clean clothes for a 10:15 Pm flight from HNL. Service like the HHV breads loyalty...
the airport doesn%26#39;t have storage lockers anymore...
and when we tried to check our luggage REAL early once, we were turned away.
I think our flight left at midnight and we tried to check in at noonish...
nope..we were told that they were not a storage facility :(
we are also staying at resortquest waikiki beach hotel and leaving at 7PM, emailed them yesterday about same problem and they said you can leave the bags with the bellhop for no charge
Most hotels will accomodate this, obviously the more expensive ones will provide better and possibly more secure service !
