I am looking into booking out honeymoon to this location for next year...anyone stay there think its a good idea?

Is it very expensive to eat in honolulu? We normally do all inclusive and pay around 2500 for both for 10 days.. but we did a time share and can stay with airfair there for 2400 for 10 days... how much spending money on food would you need? Are they many activites?

Anyone have any better ideas please let me know.. I know a lot about cancun but nothing about hi

Having been to Mexico, Honolulu is nothing like it. Mexico in itself is less expensive in general. My suggestion to you, to save money, is to eat out once a day. Find a local supermarket, and if your time share has a kitchenette, eat breakfast and lunch in your room. If you don%26#39;t want to do that, there are many restaurants to choose from, from inexpensive up to fine dining. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend really.

Sorry I%26#39;m confused. You are doing a timeshare at the Waikiki Outrigger?? I didn%26#39;t know this was possible.

we did a timeshare in the pocconos and were given free airline tickets so we%26#39;d have to pay for the room and the 2 places in honolulu we can choose from the outtrigger waikiki and another outtrigger hotel.....the room is 239 a night... we%26#39;d have to do 10 nights..

Does the $239 include taxes? (There is a lodging tax of 11% or so...) Does it include breakfast?

If not, you can keep some stuff to eat in the room for breakfast. As for eating out, you can eat fast food for $10-12/meal (2 people) ...restaurant food can be as expensive as you want ... there are decent places to eat for $20 and plenty for $200 or more ... I would budget about $75/day for food if you want to be on the cheap side ... if you eat cheaper on some days you can splurge on a nice dinner one night.

As far as activities, you can do a lot (beaches, snorkel, waterfalls, hiking, etc) for free. There are plenty of paid tours as well ... just depends on what you like ...

The Outrigger is in a great location in Waikiki. Personally, I%26#39;d stay in Waikiki for a few days and then look for somewhere quieter ... do you have to buy the 10 hotel nights to get the free tickets?

I would not be concerned about all inclusive in Waikiki. There are plenty of breakfast specials for under $5. There are plenty of local plate lunches for $5-$7 %26amp; you can find dinners for $10 %26amp; up.

Waikiki has over 100 restaurants, most of them are inexpensive.

Hawaii has all of the fast food places that you find elsewhere.

Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is a good hotel.

Considering that the airfare is included, $2400 + tax (about $300) is only $2700. Seems like a great deal to me considering a package deal from east coast for a 10 day stay at that hotel is about $3700 %26amp; includes air, hotel %26amp; taxes.

I also took my honeymoon to honolulu, and you should be glad you are going for 10 days, I could not get enough of hawaii. after the first couple of days we were there we realized how expensive tours and good food were, I bought us these %26#39;go oahu%26#39; cards on the island that really helped us save some money. you can buy it for a few days or for a whole week, and it gives you unlimited access to attractions like snorkeling, some boat tours, and a tour of pearl harbor. we saved an unbelievable amount of money doing this, it even gives you discounts on some shopping and restaurants. definitely worth checking this out if you are trying to save money www.gooahucard.com
