Honolulu to the North Shore

My husband and I will be in Honolulu for a week in September. We want to spend some time at the North Shore (Turtle Beach, Sharks Cove) We are looking at some tours that leave early in the morning. How long will it take to drive there? Thanks

Honolulu to the North Shore

It takes about an hour and fifiteen minutes to drive from Waikiki to the far reaches of the North Shore, regardless of whether you drive up the windward coast or through the center of the island.

Shark%26#39;s Cove/Pupakea can be reached in about an hour if you head through central Oahu.

Except for the first few miles through Honolulu, where it is always congested, you will be heading against the vast majority of rush hour traffic in the morning so it should be relatively smooth sailing once you are out of town. Same with coming home in the PM, it should be fairly light until you enter the urban areas.
