MaHaLo Deep Sea Drinking water

Last time we stayed on BI a friend took us to dinner at the Four Seasons where he '; made sure that we had several cocktails'; and then ordered a $40+ bottle of this MaHaLo deep sea drinking water. We sat around like idiots and discussed whether or not we could taste the difference. We are retuning in a few weeks and I am wondering if anyone knows if this is available in specialty food stores or other retail locations(for a lot less than $40 ). I would like to try it again and have my son save the bottle for ';show and tell.'; What a crazy thing! I hear it is the total rage in Japan.

Also, if any locals have informations on whether or not this product has controversial environmental impact issues I would like to hear about it.

It%26#39;s the next big thing after chewing gum! :) There are several companies bottling the water from 3,000 feet deep but it%26#39;s not available in the stores here. I have not heard of any environmental impact issues.

Looks like it%26#39;s available in a few places around the islands and also on-line. True marketing genius. According to reports, they%26#39;ve actually got the Keahole ocean thermal energy conversion plant operating in the black (even though they%26#39;re not producing any power). Here%26#39;s a link to the natural energy lab.
