National's Emerald Club

Does anyone know if joining Emerald club for National car rental will get you to your rental car any faster when landing in Kona or for that matter, make it easier to drop off rental when leaving? Thanks for info.

National's Emerald Club

I have Emerald Club because of business and it%26#39;s just a faster way to get your car and avoid the lines. While you have to reserve a mid-size car to take advantage, essentially you%26#39;re directed pass the lines to cars on reserve for Emerald Club members and you have a choice of whatever car is available. Most of the time, the mid-size cars are already gone so you can choose and SUV or even a luxury car, if available, for the same price of the mid-size. It is quick... and recommend it.

National's Emerald Club

I haven%26#39;t been to the Big Island for almost a year, so this might have changed... There was no Emerald Aisle service at KOA but you could call them and see if anything has changed. You still had to go inside, but there was a separate Emerald Club line. It sure helps when a large plane comes in and there are many people in the regular line. It%26#39;s also to your advantage because they usually give the newest and lower mileage cars to the Emerald Club members and have the rental contracts set up ahead of time.

Is National (at its cars) physically located on the premises of the airport or do I have to take a shuttle to a parking lot somewhere to pick up my car?

You have to take a shuttle to all the car rental lots... Also, just got back and National now has a kiosk out front for Emerald Club members with everything already prepared. You still don%26#39;t pick your own car like at the large airport, but it was convenient. When they are really slow or short staffed you have to go inside and stand in line but it didn%26#39;t take very long.
