Last 2 trips we stayed at resorts right on the beach (Renaissance) but this time we are considering Diamond Resort. Anyone know if this resort is relatively close to the beach to walk to , and/or is parking availability good fopr the beaches along the strip between the Polo Beach Club and the Renaissance (we never had to try before).
Any other feedback on Diamond Resort is appreciated.
Thanks!
Diamond Hawaii Resort in Wailea
The Wailea Diamond Resort is as far inland as you can get and still be within the resort boundaries. It is above the Blue Golf Course at the 300 foot elevation, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 miles upslope from Polo Beach.
Here is a webpage showing the Wailea Resort and its location:

You could easily walk to the beach in maybe 20 minutes to half an hour (probably longer and definitely hotter going back up hill), and there are in-resort shuttles which you can catch as well to get around the resort...ask at the front desk for schedules and routes.
There are parking lots and restroom/shower facilities at Wailea Bay and Mokapu/Ulua beach parks. There is also parking along the old beach road for Polo Beach and Palauea Bay (an awesome beach), but no facilities. And, you want to get there early to these beaches as it can get difficult to find a place to park later in the day.
The Diamond Resort is an excellent boutique resort hotel. It was designed in the late 1980s to be a ';club'; for visiting Japanese golfers, so it has a different feel than the huge beachfront operations oriented towards western visitors. It is low key and has a very demure and elegant ambience.
